HORTICULTURE AND CRAFT SHOW RULES

  1. Local residents are all who reside in the Parishes of Corsley, Chapmanslade and Horningsham including the cottages on the Bath Road between Norridge Woods and Chapmanslade, Rodden Down and East Woodlands.
  2. ‘Open’ classes are open to all residents of the British Isles.
  3. Exhibitors may make one or more entries in any one class (except Division D) but can receive only one prize.
  4. Entry forms must be received by the Chairman on or before 8:30pm Monday 22nd August 2011 accompanied by the entry fees as specified for each class.
  5. All exhibits must be the bona fide property of the exhibitor and in the case of fruit, flowers and vegetables in Divisions A, B, C and F must have been in his or her own cultivation for at least 2 months prior to the day of the Show. The Chairman claims the right to view the gardens of exhibitors at any time during the 7 days preceding the show.
  6. Exhibits gaining prizes at previous Corsley Shows are not valid for re-entry this year.
  7. All exhibits, where applicable, shall be displayed in or on containers supplied by the exhibitor.
  8. The judges shall be at liberty to award Special Prizes and to withhold or divide prizes. The judges’ decision in all cases will be final.
  9. Cups and trophies will be presented at a time to be determined and no exhibit may be removed before the prize giving ceremony. Cash prizes will be given out in the marquee later on Show Day at a time to be announced. Prizes not claimed on Show Day will be returned to the Show.
  10. The Society will not be responsible for any loss or damage that may occur to exhibits.
  11. Each winner of a cup or trophy is requested to take their trophy to the Show’s designated engraver, details will be given on Show Day. Cups and trophies must be returned to the Chairman by 22nd August 2012 in a clean and sound condition.
  12. All children 13 years of age or under on Show Day qualify for free admission to the Show on delivery of their exhibit(s) to the marquee. However, entry forms must be submitted beforehand in accordance with Rule 4 and Entry Fees must be paid.
  13. Entry fee 30p each for first 4 items 20p each thereafter except Divisions F where the Entry fee is 10p each for first 4 items and 5p each thereafter. Individual Exhibitors’ entries of over £5.00 qualify for a free Show Day Pass.
  14. Exhibits not previously registered will NOT be accepted on Show Day

Note – The Horticulture and Crafts marquee will be open to receive exhibits on Sunday 28th August 2011 from 2pm until 7pm and on Show Day from 6:45am until 9:00am.
