The Sahara Sisters

The Sahara Sisters Belly Dancing Group, Chippenham.

The Sahara Sisters are a group of amateur dancers based in Chippenham, Wiltshire. They enjoy learning and dancing from a wide variety of teachers and performers. Belly dancing comes from many different areas all over the world, each with its own style, technique and costume. Traditionally the dance was a way of telling stories and passing on news, and as each dancer saw other dances they incorporated moves into their dance and so the dances constantly evolved and changed. The Sahara Sisters continue this tradition by dancing many different forms and styles to a variety of different music.

The Programme of Events for 2011

Horticulture and Craft

The Horticulture and Crafts Section will be again be a centre piece of the Corsley Show. We offer the traditional classes covering vegetable and fruit, flowers, floral art (flower arranging), children's entries, art, home-crafts and handicrafts. With exception of one Division, which is open only to residents of local villages, the Section is open to any exhibitors resident in the UK.

Show Day

  • 6.45 Horticulture & Crafts Tent opens to receive entries
  • 9.00 GATES OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
  • 9.00 HORSE AND PONY SHOW (Events commence)
  • 9.00 Horticulture & Crafts Tent closes to exhibitors. Judging commences.
  • 10.00 Entries taken for Dog Show
  • 11.00 DOG SHOW COMMENCES
  • 12.15 HORTICULTURE AND CRAFTS TENT OPENS TO THE PUBLIC
  • 4.45 Horticulture & Crafts exhibits to be removed and prize money collected.
